The Catholic Church is banning “immodest” attire. So whats the standard? Standard clothing for all indigenous people was what suited the environment they lived in. the Spanish Conquistadors decided that the clothing was inappropriate and uncivilized, introducing long European dresses and stockings. Years later they have resorted to using less clothes as they got more civilized

Caribbean Words

Have you ever considered how easily we change the meaning of many English words?  So often a person uses a word innocently and has everybody around rolling with laughter, or blushing at the implied interpretation.

Take for example a lady declaring among a  gathering of young men that she is looking for wood.   The normally witty Caribbean male may respond with any number of very suggestive, yet clean statements.

Is lighter skin more beautiful?

I am confused about the idea of bleaching.

The Caucasian person would do as much as they can to get a decent tan or slightly darker skin tone.  On the other hand many Caribbean persons with darker colour insist on consuming and rubbing chemical cocktails to lighten the skin. More >
