Get to know some of the people who I call friend, my go to team when it comes to business, encouragement and who in their own right are making things happen across the globe.
Gregory Richardson is the Caribbean’s leading expert on cyber security now making in-roads in North America. He is a sought-after conference speaker and adviser to Caribbean governments and institutions.
In 2012, he was a panelist for the Organisation of American States’ (OAS) workshop on Cyber Security and Cyber Crime in the Caribbean, where he discussed the threats and trends in the region. Since 2010 he has been a regular presenter at the Caribbean ICT Roadshows, Regional Internet Governance and CARIBNOG Forums speaking on the increase in cybercrime and why cyber security is of paramount importance for governments and private sector.

He now heads 1337 Networks Inc., an ethical hacking firm based in North Carolina. Since 2011, Gregory has appeared on news segments for FOX Charlotte and ABC Charlotte as well as Caribbean television stations speaking on the dangers of cyber space and how people can better protect their identities and businesses online.
“As our technology and use of it grows globally, nothing is more important than ensuring that the technology we leverage is secure. We do network design and creation. We also manage large corporate networks as well as provide the full slate of white hat hacking services, including penetration testing,” Richardson explains.
Prior to moving to the USA, Gregory ran Secure Tech International on St. Maarten. STI was the first company in the Northeastern Caribbean to specialise in network security. This was where he began to see the wide gap between the region’s push to attract foreign direct investment and how unprepared governments, legislation and even the banking institutions were to handle the highly vulnerable world of online security.
Richardson has been championing a push for regional governments to enact tougher cybercrime laws as well as for financial institutions to bolster their online presence to ensure the security of their client’s banking data. He is also mentoring young people in order to create a new cadre of cyber security experts to increase the Caribbean’s capacity to handle threats online.
Gregory Richardson has the distinction of being awarded the Most Outstanding Speaker at the Young Entrepreneurs Symposiums in 2006 and 2007. His passion for entrepreneurship is only overshadowed by his passion for his family and his love for God.
