St. Maarten to host Church of God of Prophecy Caribbean Leadership Conference

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – For the second year in a row St. Maarten will host a major regional conference for the Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP). The island has been selected for the Caribbean Leadership Conference from January 30 to February 2, 2013.
According to Bishop Michael Greenaway, Regional Overseer of the COGOP in the Leeward Islands, French West Indies, Dominica and Suriname more than 250 people have already registered for the four-day conference to be held at the Sonesta Maho Resort.
“We are honoured that the regional leadership provided us another opportunity to stage a conference here,” Greenaway said. “Last January, we successfully managed the Caribbean Youth Conference and so this speaks to the confidence that the organization has in the local leadership and organizing team as well as in St. Maarten to host an event of this magnitude.”
Attendees are expected to come from across the Caribbean and South America, including the Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands and Peru. A high-level delegation from the COGOP International Office in the Cleveland, Tennessee has also confirmed their attendance.
Under the theme “Go Forward” the conference will look at areas where church growth can be encouraged, developing ministries for children and young adults, and stimulating more study of the bible.
