Habakkuk 2:3 says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
By nature, humans don’t like to wait. We always want to just get there right away. Reap as soon as we plant but that is not the cycle of life. It is the same way in business, you may be working on your venture for what seems forever and you don’t see enough evidence yet that you are making progress but keep working at it.
If you are not losing money hand over fist, breaking even or making just enough to pay yourself a stipend then keeping moving forward.
There are natural pauses in life and in business, just as day gives way to night, for you to rest and recuperate. Those days when the clients aren’t beating down your door and every proposal seems to be coming back with a negative response, are not meant for you to give up and find a “real” job. Those are the days you do some research, read up on what other people in your industry are doing. Find some inspiring stories from more successful entrepreneurs you admire and learn what they did to get them through those “nothing is happening” days. Review the proposals: spelling errors, could the paragraphs have been shorter or maybe you filled it with fluffy words but didn’t really tell them what it is you do and want to do for their company.
Where ever you are in your journey, it is worth it to reassess. Wait if you must to get clarity on your next move. Don’t be too hasty about giving up on your own dream. Never allow the voices of others to overwhelm your own voice in your life.
