The Imperials Come Into My Life – Lyrics

I first heard this song in 1989. I don’t think I have heard it since but for some reason the words are back in my memory as they always do from time to time and I had to write it down before I forgot them

(Verse 1)

You know this isn’t easy

But I can’t keep running from your love.

I’ve been denying way to long

That there’s something deep within me

That takes me down the road that leads me to your door

I know that I belong there with you

My human nature, would keep me far away

But God, I really need you.

I’m asking you to stay.

Come into my life

Change this heart forever

Let me feel the healing in your touch

Take all my hurt away

Come into my life

I surrender all my feelings

You got the love

I’ve needed all along

Lord, I pray that you will

Come into my life

(Verse Two)

Oh, I’m true pretending

I’ve got everything a man(girl) could ever need

You know I’m tired of the lie

Yet I was so independent

But independence never calmed by soul at night

Now I close my eyes and peace consumes

Your love has shown me what it is I need to be

And when I least expect it

Love becomes more real

I’ve prayed for you so long

Never to leave your touch

You love me day by day

Never leaving a doubt

Now I’m tired of this life

And I need your strength tonight

You see I’ve never been this ready

As I am right now.

How about “I WILL FOLLOW YOU” did you also listen to this one? in case you’ve got the lyrics I would apreciate if you send it through my email. In case you never heard, I really recommend it. It’s from the imperials also.
