Rest in His Promise

This is not a good time to be hooked on CNN or any news media. Most of what is said does more to dampen spirits and kill hope and there isn’t much to sing about. Not even the weather report is good, with storms knocking out power, earthquakes and other catastrophies. Yet, those of us who know the Lord can be at rest and live there regardless of the reports.

Now is not the time to waver in your love for God or your faith in His promise to fulfill His plans in your life, provide for all of your needs and heal your sick body. If you do not know that God will do this for you, I encourage you to seek our His promises to you in the bible. So many are choosing to take their life and that of loved ones as the option for not being able to provide for them. This is not what God wants. In Matthew 6:33, He encourages us to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness and all our needs will be added unto us. As long as you believe that you are responsible for taking care of yourself, then you will be limited by your strengths, weaknesses and your bank account.

But God’s strength is perfect in our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9  – And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me).

God does not want us to rely on our own strength. We will not be able to withstand the pressures of this life on our own. (Zechariah 4:6 –Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not bymight, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.)

Only the living and active Holy Spirit of God within us will enable us to overcome every circumstance. Today, commit to seeking God’s will for your life. His will is that none perish and all come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance).

He does not want you to fail. He wants you and your chidren to be victorious always and be ready for the return of Jesus Christ.
